Question by Dilbert: Loft Temperature: How to know if loft insulation is working?
we have a decent amount of insulation on the loft floor. there is no insulation on the loft ceiling. Our boiler is also located in the loft. During winter, the loft is pretty cold. However, i am not sure if this affects the heating in the house. Do i need to invest in installing insulation on the loft celing? Or am i ok

Something like 2/3 of heat loss is through the roof. If your loft is heated space, then yes you would do well to insulate. R30 insulation (20cm fiberglass) is a minimum. This is one case where more is definitely better, and extra insulation generally pays for itself in two or three years.
