You did not mention if you are putting the insulation in the walls or applying to an existing wall. If you are applying to an existing wall you need 1″ 6 pound fiberglass. 1″ 6 pound fiberglass has an NRC (noise reduction coefficient of .85)
as 1 NRC being perfect. .85 is really close. These panels are usually wrapped in fabric. This allows the sound to penetrate the fabric and insulation, bounce off the wall and is captured again before it exits the panel.Fabric panels are use in high end architectural law firms and conference rooms.
