Q & A: How much (ball-park estimate) would a contractor charge to install soffit baffles?

Question by bdkbrown: How much (ball-park estimate) would a contractor charge to install soffit baffles?
The blown insulation in my attic is covering the soffit vents. The insulation company did not install baffles. How much would a contractor or insulation company charge to install those retro-actively? I have cathedral ceilings, so access isn’t easy.

Heh. Lovely situation you got there. I bet that you aren’t laughing. I’d guess anywhere from 200-400 bucks per vent. Maybe more, I’d just have to see it. I can’t even tell from your description if it can be done without tearing the walls out. Your original insulator should be sued to the moon and then shot. This is why we do things the right way the first time, folks.

Here’s what you will have to install and upon thought, I’m betting that the ceiling will have to come down:

If I were you, I’d tear the ceilings out, install the channel, re-insulate, and call drywallers.
