Question by : Central air/heat pump: Heat pump is blowing fuses and furnace is only blowing hot air what is wrong?
The upstairs of my home got very hot and I went to check the circuit breaker box and found no circuits tripped I also checked the heat pump and the fan was not rotating. So I changed the fuses on the heat pump and I cut the furnace on but it still was blowing hot air. After a short period of time the heat pump fuses blew again, so I replaced those and cut of the unit.
Any suggestions on what to do?

The blown fuses are an indication of a short in the motor or wiring. Check the wiring first for any breaks. If the wiring appears ok, contact a service dept. for analysis.
